Arena Centar’s socially responsible projects, as well as the socially responsible projects of the whole NEPI Rockastle group, of which Arena Centar is a part, are communicated under the slogan #ResponsiblyTogether. “Responsible, together” represents our commitment to support community development and bring together initiatives dedicated to three important pillars of sustainability – education, community and environmental protection. We view our CSR projects as an integral part of our business goals, where the social component is as important as the economic one. Through our programs, we try to give back to the community we are a part of and improve the society in which we operate through social, economic and environmental projects:
BREEAM CERTIFICATE. Breeam is the world’s leading method of assessing the sustainability of buildings. It certifies environmental, social and economic sustainability performance of properties using the highest standards. This means that BREEAM-rated buildings are more sustainable, improve the environment and the well-being of the people who live and work in them, and help protect natural resources.
ZelEn CERTIFICATE. Arena Centar is the proud holder of the “ZelEn – Friend of Nature” certificate. We have ensured that all electricity consumed in the Arena Centar comes from renewable energy sources.
We take energy efficiency very seriously in Arena Centar so we are always looking for the improvement. The entire lighting inside the center has been replaced with LED lighting, we draw technological water from our own well, and at the same time we use it for watering green areas, our gift card is completely made of biodegradable material.
Arena Centar has an excellent recycling program through which we recycled 60% of the waste collected in the center in 2021. Our Food Court has recycling stations where you can, after the meal, dispose of paper, glass, plastic, metal and mixed waste.
Everything starts with our actions and decisions, and we can help preserve the environment. Throughout Arena Centar there are bins for separating waste and the waste is disposed of carefully. We kindly ask you to sort your personal waste into the designated bins.
The brown containers are intended for mixed waste, as well as dirty plastics, cans and paper with leftover food and drinks. Paper is recycled in blue containers, but make sure that there is dirt on it. The green containers are for glass packaging and the yellow containers are intended only for clean plastic, cans and cans.

TEXTILE RECYCLING
Zara donates your recycled clothes to humanitarian organizations while H&M turns them into new collections and will gift you with 10% discount on your next purchase for your each recycling.
SEPARATION OF PLASTIC
If you bring empty The Body Shop packaging back to the store – they will recycle it. For every five empty packaging brought, you will receive a 60 ml shower gel as a gift of your choice. Those who recycle Kiehl’s products in their store will receive a gift from Kiehl’s as well. Nespresso will recycle your used aluminum capsules. Also, Lush has no packaging at all for part of the range.
PRODUCTS
Certain brands including Timberland, adidas, Nike, Yamamay, Napapijri, Calzedonia, Aldo, The North Face and others have great pieces made from recycled materials that are of high quality and, most importantly, can be recycled again.
In addition to strong sustainability efforts, we strive to give back to the community we are part of. We are happy and proud that we have the opportunity to work with and donate various associations, health and humanitarian organizations, schools and kindergartens – UNICEF, University Clinic Petrova, Children’s hospital Klaićeva, Poliklinika Suvag, Caritas Zagreb, Elementary Schools Savski Gaj, Milan Lang, Rudeš, Kindergarten Bukovac and DOKKICA Children’s Creative Center. We always try to take care of those who need it the most, so Arena Centar donated a mobile home to a family from Petrinja whose home was destroyed.
In front of the Arena Center there are 5 bicycle stations, as well as a station for the public bicycle system. Also, there are 3 smart benches that offer a WiFi hotspot, the possibility of fast charging of mobile phones (wired and wireless), the possibility of charging electric scooters and bicycles (there is one smart bench), a service set consisting of repair tools, a compressor, bike rack (there is one smart bench).
We try to be good neighbors, listen and contribute to the local community, so, on the initiative of our first neighbors, Arena Centar planted a row of trees along Jaruščica Street.
Also, for our youngest neighbors there is a children’s park especially adapted to children with special needs.
